How do I start a claim?
Every claim starts with an initial consultation, during which we will ask you a series of questions to help us build a picture of your potential claim.
We will ask you:
- About your exposure to wet and cold conditions during your military career
- The PPE that was provided to you and whether it was fit for purpose
- When you first noticed your symptoms and what you attributed your symptoms to
- When you first reported your condition and how you were treated
- Whether you have been downgraded or subsequently discharged
- How you are today and how your NFCI affects your civilian life
After speaking with you and reviewing your medical records, if our NFCI claim solicitors believe that your potential claim has decent chances of success then we will offer to represent you on a No Win No Fee basis.
See if we can help you claim compensation by calling us now on 01507 609027 or complete the form on this page and our solicitors will contact you at a convenient time.
The symptoms of a NFCI
Some of the most common symptoms associated with a NFCI include:
- Loss of feeling in the feet, particularly the toes and ball of the foot
- Pain when the foot is warmed up in a bath or shower
- Whitening or blanching of the foot, then followed by redness
- Bouts of numbness due to damaged nerve endings
- The foot can swell and become painful to walk on
NFCI symptoms can last several months and in very severe cases many years, often resulting in a loss of military career by way of medical downgrade or in the worst case scenario as medical discharge.
What is a No Win No Fee and how do law firms get paid?
If we believe that your NFCI claim has good prospects of success then we will fund your claim using a No Win No Fee Agreement. The agreements are also commonly referred to as either a “Conditional Fee Agreements”, or a “CFA”.
We will ask you to sign this conditional fee agreement and become a client of our firm.
The nature of these agreements means that law firms take all the financial risk and not the client. If a claim fails, the law firm is not paid and the client does not have to pay any solicitor’s fees for their time.
For taking this risk, it is common for law firms to agree with a client that they will be paid a percentage of a client’s compensation award, which is usually capped at a maximum of 25% of their damages. In military claims, basic fees are mostly paid by the MoD.
To start a NFCI Claim, we do not charge our military clients any up-front fees so contact us today to find out if we can help you start your claim now.
