A former London underground tunnel inspector contracted Mesothelioma as a result of his exposure to asbestos dust when inspecting fire proof cladding in underground railway tunnels in the late 1960’s / early 1970’s.

He died soon after being diagnosed with the condition, and a claim was brought by his widow. She recovered £160,000 compensation, which included a sizeable award of damages on account of her loss of dependency.
